ZTE has launched a new Blade series smartphone, the Blade V2 in China. The main highlights of the smartphone include a a 64-bit processor with support for 4G LTE, and a 5MP front-facing selfie-centric camera with a CMOS sensor and 88-degree wide-angle lens.

Coming to the other features, the ZTE Blade V2 offers a 5-inch HD display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, working in tandem with 1GB of RAM. It comes with a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash and a CMOS sensor. The device runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and has 8GB of internal memory that is further expandable via a microSD card. Besides 4G LTE, the phone offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and A-GPS connectivity options. It is backed by a 2,400mAh battery.

The company hasn’t announced the price and availability of the phone yet. The brand recently launched its new flagship Android smartphone, the Star 2 in China. The device comes with system-wide voice controls that allows users to use it hands-free. 

Gionee Launched Pioneer P6 with 5-inch Hd Display, 1.3GHz Quadcore Processor Android 4.4 Smartphone At Rs 8,890

Gionee Pioneer P6, the company’s latest smartphone in the Pioneer series is now available from ebay. It has introduced back in November last year when Gionee launched the CTRL V6L and Pioneer P5L LTE smartphones. The main highlight of the smartphone is the 2-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. It has a 5-inch FWVGA display, is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash.

It has dual SIM support and 3G connectivity, similar to most other Gionee smartphones in this range. It has 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage with expansion slot and a 1950mAh battery.

Indian Government has banned import of Mobile handsets with duplicate or fake IMEI

The Government of India has banned the imports of mobile handsets in the country with duplicate or fake unique identity numbers.

The move is aimed at improving security and assisting tracking callers using different SIM cards.The GSM Association and Telecommunications Industry Association are global bodies that provide unique numbers to mobile handset companies. An IMEI comprises 15-digit codes assigned to a handset and it appears on the operator’s network whenever a call is made.

“GSM mobile handsets with duplicate IMEI or fake IMEI & ‘CDMA mobile handsets’ with duplicate ESN (Electronic Serial Number)/MEID (Mobile Equipment Identifier) or fake ESN/MEID are added to the list of ‘Prohibited’ items for import,”

Director General of Foreign Trade said in a notification, reported The Economic Times.

The initiative is aimed at checking proliferation of mobile handsets with duplicate or cloned IMEI numbers, which are dangerous for national security and can be a nation threat. Mobile phones without the unique security code are making inroads into the grey market by cloning the IMEI numbers of genuine sets.

“We welcome any crackdown in fake IMEI or grey market. The implementation of this notification on gorund will have to be handled with great care so that ease of business is not hampered while curbing grey market,”

said Indian Cellular Association National President Pankaj Mohindroo.
