Microsoft started rolling out Windows 10 in 190 Countries including India

Microsoft has started rolling out Windows 10 upgrade for existing users  in 190 countries who have reserved for the update. You can even reserve it now to get added to the list, confirms Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore. As the company announced  earlier Windows 10 will roll out in waves for the users starting today. Windows 10 brings Cortana voice assistant to PCs, Microsoft Edge browser, New Photos, Videos, Music, Maps, People, Mail & Calendar apps, Windows Continuum, Windows Hello for secure logins and more new features.

New features in Windows 10

Cortena – The personal digital assistant, makes it easy to find the right information at the right time

Microsoft Edge Browser  – Lets people quickly browse, read, and mark up and share the Web.Integrated Xbox app – Delivers the Xbox experience to Windows 10, bringing together friends, games and accomplishments across Xbox One and Windows 10 devices.

Continium – Optimizes apps and experiences beautifully across touch and desktop modes.Built-in apps including Photos; Maps; Microsoft’s new music app, Groove; and Movies & TV offer entertainment and productivity options.Microsoft Phone Companion app – Enables iPhones, Android or Windows phones to work seamlessly with Windows 10 devices.

Microsoft also said that New Office Mobile apps for Windows 10 tablets will be available today in the Windows Store. There are different editions of Windows 10 that includes, Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows 10 Education. Microsoft has also released ISOs if you want to install it fresh, but you will need a Windows product key.

Microsoft Patenered with 20 OEM’s To pre-install office Apps and Skype on Android Tablets

Microsoft is expanding the reach of its Office apps and Skype to more partners. The software giant will pre-install the Office and Skype apps on Android tablets from OEMs like LG, Sony, Haier and others.

Under the new partnership, Office apps like Word, Excel and Powerpoints, OneNote, OneDrive along with Skype will be pre-installed on a total of 20 partners. Microsoft noted that the apps will arrive on a new upcoming LG tablet as well as the new Sony Xperia Z4 tablet over the next 3 months. The company has reached to a total of 31 partners with this agreement.

Earlier in March, Microsoft partnered with with global OEMs Samsung and Dell, eight regional OEMs and top original device manufacturer Pegatron to pre-install Office apps and services on Android devices. The latest move comes in line with the “mobile-first, cloud-first” strategy that is initiated by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Just few days back Microsoft announced that its digital voice assistant Cortana is coming to Android and iOS.

Microsoft Launched Contacts+Message backup App for Windows Phone

Microsoft has launched a new app that will let users to take backup of all your contacts and messages. Dubbed as Contacts+Message,the app stores contacts and messages to external SD card.

Once downloaded the app installs in your Settings section as it does not appear in your phone along with other apps. The app will allows users to backup contacts to a microSD card in the traditional VCF format. The same will apply when backing up SMS or MMS messages. The content is saved to a ‘backup+restore’ folder on the SD card as an XML file.

It must be noted that the app works for a single SIM even if the phone supports dual SIM. The app is compatible with Windows Phone 8.1 devices.

Microsoft Launched Lumia XL Dual Sim in India At Rs 15799

Microsoft has launched the Lumia 640 XL Dual SIM in India, along with the Lumia 640, as it promised last week. It was announced last month at the MWC and packs a  5.7-inch HD display, is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on Windows Phone 8.1. It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It also comes with dual SIM support and 1 year of office 365 subscription worth Rs. 3,299 for purchases till June.

It comes with Rs. 1000 cashback on MobiKwik with a minium recharge of Rs. 200 per month for five months and Rs. 800 worth cashback on Ola money for Rs. 200 per recharge for first four recharges of Rs. 500 or higher.
