Microsoft has announced the launch of its Nokia 215 Dual SIM phone in India. Touted
as Microsoft’s most affordable Internet ready phone, the new phone is priced at Rs. 2149.
The Nokia 215 Dual SIM runs Nokia Series 30+. It has 2.4-inch QVGA display. Other important features include 1100 mAh battery, 900/1800 MHz, : micro USB, 3.5mm AV connector, Bluetooth 3.0 with SLAM and HSP/HFP profile connectivity, preloaded Facebook and Messenger, access to Facebook in 9 local languages, VGA Camera and Up to 32GB Micro SD supported.
The Nokia 215 will be available in a range of colors including bright green, black and white.

Speaking at the launch, Raghuvesh Sarup, Director-Marketing, Nokia India Sales Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Microsoft Mobiles Oy, was quoted saying, “India is a ‘mobile-first’ market, and feature phones are the first port of access to internet for a large number of mobile users. Microsoft remains dedicated to driving innovation and introducing phones to first time mobile phone users with great technology packed inside.”
He further added, “With the launch of Nokia 215 we are proud to partner with Facebook to improve the user experience further allowing more people to enjoy online experiences for the first time – like Facebook, Facebook Messenger, MSN Weather, and browsing with Opera Mini at an affordable price”.
Popularity of smartphones is growing, however still a large number of users are using feature phones. Lack of affordable devices has been one of the main obstacles for the adoption of smartphones in rural areas. While a number of smartphone brands are selling ultra low-cost smartphones, Internet-enabled feature phones are also welcome initiatives.
Microsoft recently launched the Nokia 130 Dual SIM feature phone for Rs. 1750. The Nokia 130 Dual SIM sports a 1.8-inch QVGA screen. It runs Series 30 OS. Other important features of the feature phone include built-in video and music players, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, FM Radio and support for 32GB microSD expandable memory. The phone is powered by a 1020 mAh battery that is rated to deliver 13 hours of talktime.
Microsoft Lumia 435 Dual SIM and 532 Dual SIM Windows Phone 8 listed online At Rs 4,822 and Rs 5,521 approx
Microsoft has listed the Lumia 435 Dual SIM and the Lumia 532 Dual SIM with the “Coming Soon” tag on its official website for India. These devices were announced last month, and we expect them to be available for purchase later this month.
Microsoft Lumia 435 Dual SIM Specifications
The Lumia 435 Dual SIM features a 4-inch WVGA display, 2-megapixel primary camera, and a VGA secondary camera. Under the hood, it is equipped with a dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, microSD card slot, two SIM card slots, and a 1,560 mAh battery. It runs Windows Phone 8.1, but it is eligible for an upgrade to Windows 10, which will come out later this year. It is priced at 69 Euros (~ Rs. 4,822), though its India-specific pricing hasn’t been revealed yet.

The Lumia 532 Dual SIM is a cut-down version of the Lumia 535 Dual SIM, with a smaller, lower resolution screen, and lacks autofocus as well as LED flash. It features a 4-inch WVGA display, quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, microSD card slot, and a 1,560 mAh battery. It is equipped with a 5-megapixel primary camera, and a VGA front-facing camera. Similar to all the Lumia smartphones released recently, it runs Windows Phone 8.1, and is eligible for Windows 10 upgrade. It is currently priced at 79 Euros (~ Rs. 5,521), but it might not be the same when the Microsoft Lumia 532 Dual SIM becomes available in India.
The Nokia 225 comes with the Nokia Xpress browser for web browsing”
Nokia has introduced its latest feature phone in the Indian market. The dual-SIM Nokia 225 feature phone is pegged at at Rs 3,329. The device was already available to buy on the company’s official store for a discounted price tag of Rs 3,199 since May. However, the Nokia 225 is listed as out of stock on the company’s store.
The dual-SIM Nokia 225 comes with a 2.8-inch TFT display, and has a 2MP shooter at the back. It also supports photo sharing via popular social networks like Twitter and Facebook. It also comes with Facebook, Twitter and Gameloft store applications. The features cover Bluetooth and FM Radio, and it supports 32GB of microSD card for storage expansion as well. The Nokia 225’s keyboard is said to be splash- and dust-proof, and easy to clean too. The device also comes pre-loaded with the Nokia Xpress browser for surfing the web.
The phone comes in black, red, yellow and white variants. It’s powered by a 1,200mAh battery, which the vendor claims to offer 21 hours of talk time
Motorola has finally started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update for the Dual SIM Moto G the India users would get the update in a few weeks, at the launch, earlier this month. The Android 4.4.2 update was first released single SIM US variant first, back in December and it started rolling out in Europe, again for the single SIM variant last month. It rolled out for the Dual SIM variant in Malaysia and Taiwan earlier this month.
This update brings new phone dialer, printing, Android KitKat features such as restyled status and navigation bars, full-screen mode, color emoji, smarter power use, new camera features, including the most expected manual focus and exposure control and more.

The device could have somewhat been a good seller if launched around Rs 15,000 but HTC thinks otherwise. The device costs more than double for what its worth and you shouldn’t really go in for it.
