YU has officially launched YUNIQUE, the company’s latest budget smartphone. It has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display at 312 ppi, is powered by a Quad-Core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and runs on stock Android 5.1 (Lollipop). It doesn’t run on Cyanogen OS out of the box like other YU smartphones, but it will have an option to run Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) in future. It features a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The YU YUNIQUE comes Black color and is priced at Rs. 4,999. It also comes with double data offer for Airtel customers. The smartphone will go on sale starting from September 15th through flash sale. YU has launched YUPIX, a mobile photo printer. The pocket photo printer offers high quality photo prints in just 60 seconds and provides NFC and WiFi connectivity. Since this uses WiFi, it will be faster than other printers that uses Bluetooth, says the company. It uses Dye Sublimation technology, offering a printing resolution of 291 dpi and can print 10 continuous copies.
It uses cartridge which has Ink Ribbon & Photo Paper Integrated into it, making it water and fingerprint proof. There is a separate app that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store that lets users wirelessly connect their smartphone through WiFi or NFC and also edit images. There will also be an iOS app in future. Cartridge refill will also be available separately, but YU has not announced the pricing for it yet.

Micromax’s online-only brand Yu recently unveiled the Yureka Plus for Rs 9,999 to take on the Lenovo K3 Nite and has now dropped the price of the smartphone to Rs 8,999. With the reduced pricing coming into effect, the device comes across a better value for money package. Sensing the fact that it is a recently launched device and the current owners may voice their dissatisfaction , Yu has stated that the ones who already own the device will be getting a Rs 1,000 gift voucher from Amazon.
The Yureka Plus is an upgraded version of the Yureka and gets a better display, camera module and is tougher than its predecessor. There’s no information about Yureka’s future but we believe that the device probably won’t come back on sale. Even if it does, expect it to retail in the Rs 7,000-8,000 price bracket. The Yureka Plus with the revised pricing puts forth a really strong case in its favour and registrations for its sale on August 6 have already commenced.
The Yu Yuphoria is now available via open sale from July 21 to July 23. In these three days, 100,000 units will be available for buyers. The company also touts this as the biggest batch of “Made in India” smartphones that are being made available during a single sale.

For a refresh, Yu launched the Yuphoria in India earlier this year, priced at Rs 6,999. It flaunts a 5-inch HD IPS display, and is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM and Adreno 306 GPU.
The smartphone also features 16GB internal storage, 2,230mAh battery with quick charging, 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

YU just launched YUREKA PLUS, the company’s latest smartphone in the YU series. It has a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, compared to a 5.5-inch HD display on the YUREKA. It is powered by a Octa-Core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (4×1.5GHz + 4×1.0GHz) processor and runs on Cyanogen OS 12 based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash, Sony IMX214 sensor, compared to Sony IMX135 sensor on the YUREKA and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
It has 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage with expansion slot, Cat4. LTE support, including support for 4G LTE bands (TDD B40 2300MHz and FDD B3 1800MHz) for India and and packs a 2500mAh battery, similar to the YUREKA. The company says that it has subtle curvature and minimalist design.
