iBall has launched the Andi 5M Xotic budget Android smartphone. Priced at Rs 8,199, the phone will be available in major brick-and-mortar stores across the country and via e-commerce portals. The device was already listed on eBay India in end-February at a price of Rs 8,950. Mumbai-based retailer, Mahesh Telecom tipped the launch of the Andi 5M Xotic for Rs 7,999.

The biggest USP of the iBall Andi 5M Xotic is its 2GB of RAM and 16GB of flash memory for a budget. The phone features a 5-inch qHD display, and runs Android 4.4 KitKat, but will be upgraded to Android Lollipop in the coming months. The device houses an 8MP autofocus rear shooter with an LED flash and a BSI sensor, and a 3.2MP front-facing snapper. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, and sips juice from a 2,000mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the handset offers dual-SIM slots, 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, micro-USB, and A-GPS.

At this price point, the iBall Andi 5M Xotic will be up against the likes of the Micromax Canvas Juice 2, Celkon Millennium Ultra Q500, and Alpha Feather etc., which all offer 5-inch displays, quad-core processors and 2GB of RAM
