Reliance Now offering 1GB 3G Data for Rs 149 in Maharashtra Circle

Reliance communications the largest dual technology operator with both GSM and CDMA operations has launched what may be the country’s cheapest high speed data pack till date for its CDMA subscribers in Maharashtra circle, with the per GB cost dipping as low as Rs.5 per GB.

The data pack cost is Rs. 149 and it gives 30GB EvDO Rev.A data with peak download speed of 3.1 Mbps with 30 day validity. The pack sounds a bit too good to be true so we got ourselves a Maharashtra circle CDMA OMH sim and recharged it with the Rs.149 pack and received an SMS confirmation that the number has been credited with 30GB high speed data (also verified by sending MBAL to 55333). We tested the speeds in an unlocked EvDO data card and it was in the range of 1 to 1.5 Mbps downlink.

The best part is that the plan has no restrictions on the type of device it is usable with, the subscriber is free to use it with a CDMA handset or with an unlocked EvDO data card. Rcom does not charge additionally for data usage in roaming, which means if you can land yourself a CDMA OMH sim from Maharashtra circle and use it in an unlocked data card you could use it in any circle on Rcom network and enjoy the same low tariff. Readers from Maharashtra circle who have been using this pack are welcome to share their reviews and experience in the comments section below.
