OnePlus One will get OTA Update To Android Lollipop based CyanogenMod 125 in India
“CyanogenMod 12S is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.”
After its debacle Micromax’s YU regarding the use of CyanogenMod in India, OnePlus decided to launch its own Lollipop-based OxygenOS ROM for the OnePlus One. Now the company’s co-founder, Carl Pei, has announced that OnePlus One units in India will get the Android Lollipop-based CyanogenMod CM12S update over-the-air in the coming days, contrary to what users were told earlier.
The vendor recently revealed that international units of the OnePlus One would be receiving the CyanogenMod 12S update starting March 30th in a phased manner, and units in India are expected to get it in the coming weeks. Interestingly, the brand’s OxygenOS is slated to become available around the same time, although users will have to flash it manually for now. Micromax’s stance on the matter continues to be unclear, with no comment from the Indian company despite the fact that it holds exclusive rights to CyanogenMod in the country.
