Xiaomi Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus Images Leaked ahead of Launch Tomorrow
Leaked images and benchmarks scores of Xiaomi’s much anticipated Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus have emerged online. The Mi 5 smartphone has been spotted running AnTuTu benchmark, revealing the specifications of the device.
According to the leaked images, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 contrary to previous rumours of Snapdragon 805 or 810, along with 2GB of RAM, again not 3GB RAM. The display is expected to be above 5-inch, and sport a resolution of 2560 x 1440 px. There’s no word on the camera capabilities and battery size.
Xiaomi has already been teasing its latest smartphone over the social media. It recently posted a a short video teaser on its Facebook and Twitter social media outlets, announcing a new flagship product. The company has confirmed to launch its flagship on January 15.
According to previous rumours, the Mi 5 has bezel-less display and is expected to be priced higher than the previous modelsWith less than a day left for Xiaomi’s grand event, where the company is expected to launch the Mi 5 and Redmi Note 2, some new information about an unexpected device has popped up. According to leaksfly, a leakster we have never heard of, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer will be releasing Mi 5 Plus handset at the event.
As per the image, the Mi 5 Plus will have a slimmer body, wider screen, and thinner bezels. The screen also has 2.5D display, a screen type which curves at the edges. Unfortunately, that is all the details the alleged image of the rumored Mi 5 Plus is able to provide.
Previously it was expected that the company will be launching the Mi 5 handset at the event, and Redmi Note 2 alongwith it. Now it seems the company also has an Mi 5 Plus handset in the works as well. It will be interesting to see how many of these devices are real, and how many of them Xiaomi wants to make public tomorrow.
From what we have heard so far, the Redmi Note 2, which is the successor to Redmi Note 4G, is likely to feature a 5.7-inch 1080p 2.5D display (the kind of screen that curves at the edges), 64-bit capable octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, paired with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Also likely to be included are 16GB/32GB internal storage, 13-megapixel shooter with dual-tone dual-LED flash, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3,600mAh battery. It could be possible that Xiaomi rebrands the Redmi Note series to Mi Plus, considering the two devices sound very similar in terms of design and features.
