After the Delhi High Court partially lifted the ban on Xiaomi, the company today restored its weekly flash sale by putting up the entry-level Redmi 1S on sale on Flipkart. Furthermore, the Chinese company has also announced that the Redmi Note 4G will go on sale next week on December 30.

This is a comeback of sorts for Xiaomi after it was hit hard by the Delhi High Court’s order following a patent infringement petition from Ericsson. While the court had initially banned the Chinese company from selling any phones in the country, it recently removed the ban partially, thereby allowing the company to sell smartphones powered by Qualcomm chipsets. In other words it could sell the Redmi 1S and the Redmi Note 4G variant.

The timeline of the launch is in line with what Xiaomi had revealed at the launch of the Redmi Note. While the 3G variant is priced at Rs 8,999, the 4G variant is Rs 1,000 more expensive and will retail at Rs 9,999.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Redmi Note 4G is similar to the 3G variant except a few details. Unlike the 3G variant, the Redmi Note 4G is powered by a 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 305 GPU and 2GB RAM. Connectivity options include single-SIM card slot, and supports both FDD-LTE at 1800MHz, and TDD-LTE at 2300MHz.

The rest of the specifications remain the same. So essentially it features a 5.5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and 8GB internal storage, microSD card support, and a 3,100mAh battery. On the software front, it runs on Android KitKat wrapped under MIUI 5.

The Redmi Note 4G also marks the first time Xiaomi will be foraying into the offline market for selling its smartphones. Xiaomi has tied up with Airtel to sell the smartphones through the latter’s flagship stores across six cities. Buyers will however have to pre-register on Airtel’s website first to buy the device at the stores. Interestingly, Airtel’s website doesn’t reveal when the phablet will be available at its stores, and instead still says coming soon.
