Facebook Launched Groups App For iOS and Android Users
After the standalone Facebook Messenger app that barred you from chatting inside Facebook’s main app, the company is further expanding its app portfolio by launching another standalone app. This time, announcing on its blog, Facebook has decided to create a separate ecosystem just for its Groups, which is used by various people to keep in touch with long distance friends and family, albeit not as actively as the company would hope. This new Facebook Groups app is made for people who use the social networks Groups section the most, while silently hoping to also revive the slowly dying feature.
The app is neat by itself and easy to navigate. It takes all your groups and puts them on one screen — the one that are most used are right on top, and the less used ones go on the bottom. It is easy to create a new group, control your notifications and also see new groups that you might like to join based on your friends’ interests and your location via the Discover Tab.
However, unlike Messenger, Facebook hasn’t removed the feature from the main app. You can still use Facebook Groups in the main Facebook app and on desktop. This Facebook Groups app is being rolled out globally today for iOS and Android users.
